Interventional Oncology Treatments
Interventional oncology is the practice of treating cancer without surgery or prior to surgery. In many cases, a radiation oncologist can destroy (ablate) a tumor with radiation therapy. Some tumors are too large to be removed surgically, but radiation therapy can gradually reduce the size of the tumor so that it can be removed. South Florida Vascular Associates has experience with shrinking and ablating malignant and benign tumors in the liver, kidney, and bone.
Another way in which SFVA can treat cancer patients is with long-term, durable venous access options. Many people with cancer may require IV drug therapy, and our doctors perform venous access procedures on an outpatient basis to assist with the process. We will make every effort to keep you as comfortable as possible during treatment so that you have a positive experience.
