A Breakthrough Solution for Hemorrhoids—No Surgery, No Pain, No Wait Innovative Hemorrhoid Treatment Available Immediately at SFVA in South Florida—Conveniently Accessible for Canadian Patients

Hemorrhoids, also known as piles, are swollen veins around the anus or lower rectum, commonly caused by pregnancy, obesity, prolonged sitting, chronic constipation, or straining during bowel movements. By age 50, nearly half of adults experience hemorrhoid symptoms, according to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.

Symptoms include itching, bleeding, swelling, discomfort, and pain around the anus, especially during bowel movements. Although usually benign, hemorrhoids share symptoms with serious conditions like colorectal cancer. This underscores the importance of screening tests, such as colonoscopies, particularly for individuals over 45.

Traditional hemorrhoid treatments include topical ointments, dietary changes, rubber-band ligation, infrared coagulation, and hemorrhoidectomy. While rubber-band ligation can be effective, hemorrhoids frequently recur, necessitating multiple treatments. Hemorrhoidectomy, though effective, is very painful and may cause serious side effects such as prolonged pain, bleeding, urinary retention, infection, fecal incontinence, and anal stricture.

A revolutionary minimally invasive procedure, Hemorrhoid Artery Embolization (HAE), is now available at South Florida Vascular Associates (SFVA), under the expert care of Dr. William Julien, a nationally recognized specialist with over 30 years of experience in minimally invasive vascular procedures. Unlike other methods, HAE involves no incisions and does not require insertion of instruments through the anus. Instead, a tiny catheter is inserted through a small needle puncture in the wrist or groin and guided through the vascular system directly to the arteries feeding the hemorrhoids.

Once positioned, tiny particles are released through the catheter, reducing blood flow to hemorrhoids and causing them to shrink. Performed under local anesthesia, HAE typically lasts under an hour, with patients discharged after just a few hours. There is minimal discomfort after the procedure, and patients usually resume normal activities quickly.

Canadian patients seeking rapid access to hemorrhoid treatment without the long wait times typical in Canada can now benefit from immediate appointments at SFVA. Our South Florida locations offer Canadian patients not only quick access but also personalized care, modern facilities, and recovery in a comfortable, sunny climate.

HAE is ideal for anyone looking to avoid the pain, discomfort, and downtime associated with traditional hemorrhoid surgery. South Florida Vascular Associates has offices conveniently located in Broward and Palm Beach county.

Hemorrhoid Artery Embolization at SFVA, led by Dr. Julien, represents a significant advancement in managing this common yet sensitive medical condition, providing Canadian and international patients relief without the traditional drawbacks of surgery.
